Aleksandar Spasoski is a representative of visual and multimedia art, who graduated painting at

Prof. Rodoljub Anastasov at the Fine Arts University of Cyril and Methodius 1997 in Skopje, after which he obtained another degree under the menthorship of Prof. Klaus Vom Bruch from the ADBK in Munich, Germany 2008.

2012 he published his MA degree with the title “The synesthetic values of Multimedia Art”

His artistic work includes involvement in various projects such as painting, installations, videos, and sound.

In this way, he has acquired a wide range of artistic expressions often interwoven into a unique work of art in the direction of creating a harmonious mixture of media.

Aleksandar uses themes from existentialism and social-political issues as post-conceptual discourse as well aesthetically solutions as a formalistic discourse.

At his early beginnings at the age of 16/17 as a young artist, he received twice The Best Talented Young Artist Award by the Cultural Information Centre Skopje, Macedonia in the years 1992 and 1993 that motivated him to take up painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Skopje, Macedonia.

He was actively involved in various recognizable international exhibitions. In 2001 he presented his documentary film “Republic Absurdistan” at the Munich Film Festival as a political overview on the short Macedonian war crises.

Spasoski’s biggest hit, the video “Voyeur” was awarded on the Munich Art Academy as one of the best final artworks for 2008 winning the Prize of DAAD Foundation, from where it followed its nominations at Film Festival Kassel, Oberhausen Short Film Festival Germany, Eastern Neighbors Festival in Utrecht Holland, Transitland Europe Project collaborative project that is organized by InterSpace [Sofia], Transmediale [Berlin] and Ludwig Museum [Budapest] aims to create a video archive of 100 works spanning 20 years starting from the fall of the Berlin wall, Split Film Festival, etc.

In 2010 Spasoski exhibited his sixth solo exhibition at the Gallery Mc New York with the following works: I am from Macedonia, Elixir of Love, Voyeur, Oven, and others.

2012 -2013 Aleksandar promotes his newest conceptual title “The ship that never passed”.

Spasoski with this project succeeds not only in affecting the senses but also in evoking various cognitive associations. In his text Status #, 100 – 8/92 Dock on dry, Prof. Nebojsha Vilich” would say: “Spasoski succeeds in composing and placing the basic elements of every big artwork with divine proportion: a simple language that through speech creates complex and stratified rhetoric.

Since 2016, he has been actively working on painting and creating several new videos.

He is involved in the activities of the Macedonian active scene called “Cooperation” creating works that strongly discuss the Macedonian social and political situation.

This country also faces quite bizarre political pressures due to its identity.

This strongly influences his personality and provokes him to create a lot of projects on that topic.

2017 in Munich creates a group exhibition of paintings called “Identities” where he exhibits his paintings but signed under various fictional authors.
